Foundational Stage-(Nursery to Grade II)

Welcome to the Foundational Stage (Nursery to Grade II) section of our school website! Here, you will find detailed information about the curriculum, teaching methodologies, and other important aspects of the foundational year’s education offered at our school. We believe in providing a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters the holistic development of each child.

Curriculum

Our school follows the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) curriculum for the foundational years, which includes classes from Pre-Nursery to Grade 2. The curriculum is designed to provide a strong foundation in key learning areas, such as language development, mathematics, environmental studies, arts, and physical education. It is based on the principle of experiential learning, encouraging students to explore, discover, and actively participate in their learning journey.

Teaching Methodologies

At our school, we employ a student-centred approach to teaching. Our experienced and dedicated teachers create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity. We emphasize active learning through a variety of methodologies, including interactive classroom discussions, group activities, educational games, and multimedia resources. Our goal is to make learning enjoyable and meaningful for our students.

Holistic Development

We believe in nurturing the overall development of our students, and our curriculum reflects this philosophy. In addition to academic excellence, we focus on developing essential life skills, such as communication, problem-solving, collaboration, and decision-making. Our students are encouraged to participate in co-curricular activities, including sports, arts, music, and dance, which promote physical fitness, creativity, and self-expression. We also organize field trips and educational outings to enhance their learning experiences beyond the classroom. The CACA Project, short for Empowering Students for Sustainable Development, is an exciting initiative od AVIS , that aims to raise awareness about sustainability, engage students in sustainable practices, and contribute to the achievement of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Assessment and Evaluation

To ensure effective learning outcomes, we use a comprehensive assessment and evaluation system. We promote a holistic approach to assessment, considering not only academic performance but also social, emotional, and physical development.

Parent Involvement

We strongly believe in fostering a strong partnership between parents and the school. We encourage open communication and regular interaction between parents and teachers to ensure the best support for each child’s growth and development. We organize parent-teacher meetings, workshops, and orientation programs to keep parents informed about their child’s progress and to provide them with strategies for effective parenting.

We are committed to providing a high-quality education during the foundational years, preparing our students for a successful academic journey ahead.
